It only takes a couple of loonies a few seconds to kick off a miniature war in the Muslim world
“With the help of our wonderful new technology, however, it only needs a couple of loonies to kick off a miniature war in the Muslim world within seconds. I doubt if poor Christopher Stevens – a man who really understood the Arabs as many of his colleagues do not – had ever heard of the ‘film’ that unleashed the storming of the US consulate in Benghazi and his own death. It’s one thing to witlessly claim that the US would go on a “crusade” against al-Qaeda – thank you, George W. Bush – but another to insult, quite deliberately, an entire people. Racism of this kind stirs many a crazed heart.” To read full article click on the link below:

read the whole article and some of the comments. some good points by mr fiske but none of them justify what happened. i won’t repeat what i just wrote in response to mr ajami’s article.
I agree with Shoeb’s comments on the above article and “Why is the Muslim world so easily offended?” . In the above article Mr. Fisk mentions about burning of a church by a christian fundamentalist for showing an offensive movie to Christians. I do not think one wrong can make an other wrong right-both are wrong! No matter what the underlying reasons, we the Muslims have a serious problem. It seems that the West, even Non-State loony players, have found our push button which they can push at their will to support their narrative that Muslims by nature are violent and emotionally charged-and we never disappoint them. We dutifully play in their hands. Such senseless violent response gives further encouragement to these Non-State loony characters to provoke us further by more offensive material. It is obvious by the statements of people involved in the production of the movie.
I believe such a violent response denigrates Islam and its teachings. As I mentioned in my earlier statement, it is a fantasy to think that it can be stopped by such violent and senseless protests. Best course is to ignore it. I think the Muslim Organizations , Islamic Centers and individual Muslims in the West should take a lead to educate the Muslims in the West as well as in Muslim countries. They should use Social Media, e-mails , websites and every other communication material to prevent further such episodes.
The present situation in the World of Islam is on account of a persisting famine of intellectual and moral perspective. Every moment the world is being renewed and the Muslims, unconcerned of the changes, are basking in the glory of the seventh century. Even life in our body keeps on freshening like a stream of water, and we are living not only in a static form, but also as it was during the past time. This is all because of Whabbism which is day by day throwing us into the past; rather in many aspects into the pre-Islamic past.
