A novel by Maggie Shipstead, Great Circle, has following lines, “One thing I have learned is that you don’t just love a person, you love a vision of your life with them. And then you have to mourn both.”
The followers of Imran Khan fell in love with not just the handsome Kaptan and his persona but they also imagined a life in a Pakistan, under his rule, which will be free of corruption, a merit-based society, and ground breaking of state-of-the-art projects that will put Pakistan on road to modern state. Unfortunately, after his 3/1/2 years of more bashing of previous corrupt leaders, nothing much materialized. It is hard to give up the person they loved and the dreams they built around him. His failure mean that they also failed. Although failures of last 3 ½ years are in front of them, but unceremonious removal of Imran Khan was insult to IK and his fans. Although fans were already frustrated, dishearten, and disappointed at the failure of progress in IK’s tenure, but IK’s removal was a bridge too far to give up idol and dreams build around him in the snap of finger. Now all the anger, frustration, and disappointments are pouring out-not just of the last 3 ½ years, but previous decades. And the spoils belong to whoever can exploit the most.
This is an excellent article.
“Unfortunately, after his 3/1/2 years of more bashing of previous corrupt leaders, nothing much materialized.” So true.
The moment I saw IK holding his “tasbeeh” in interviews and international meetings, and instead of saying “a progressive and welfare state” his slogan is “Medina ki Riyasat, etc, ” I wondered what is going on in his mind. The man doesn’t have what it takes to lead a modern state. He failed to deliver anything. He couldn’t even recover a dollar of stolen money from whom he called thieves.
The irony is that we are left with an incompetent and tarnished Opposition. I hope they have learnt something and can now deliver something.

Right from the day of creation of Pakistan as a separate state in the sub-continent of India, the country appeared on the world map without any political system. Islam was a basic slogan to seek a separate homeland for the Muslim majority of India. Those who took over the reign of the country have struggled and fought for their own reign only. Presidents after a President and Prime Minister after a PM came and went as rulers without any political system. Imran Khan is fighting for his position as a Prime Minister, a ruler who does not follow whatever the [Lame] constitution says, as I believe the constitution of Pakistan is not based on any “political ideology” or any set political system. Just to be a ruler of the country Imran is playing with the emotions of the masses–in the same way as Bhutto did. I remember, Bhutto used the same slogan of corruption, exploitation of the 22 industrial families, and anti-America narrative, he ended up in ruining the economy of the country; destroyed the educational system, encouraged factionalism. Imran is playing the same game and singing with same harp. There is a lot I can say but a country without a political system is like a personal property of a ruler or a group of rulers. MIRZA ASHRAF
A nihilist forum of orphaned secularists who worshipped a false god in Moscow who died with barely a whimper.
However, claiming a non political , non religious status, as is the habit of secularists, the write ups are political.
Be truthful!
Imran Khan is an egoist, who has always struggled for his own-self, for his own power in his person, as a person, as a cricketer or now as a politician. As a person he grew up a lovely child and being handsome became a playboy. As a cricketer, he grabbed power from his first cousin Majid Khan and then ruled the field for his own glory. At Hyderabad test match he declared the innings when Javed Miandad was on his way to establish a world record by scoring highiest runs. He divorced his best wife–a Jewish girl who adopted Islam for his sake and is still a Muslim, has brought up his sons as Muslims, and even separated, she is still on his side. In politics, Imaran does not know what is politics, rather he wants to see himself on top of everyone. So far there have been three “Giant Political Philosophers;” Chankya, Machiavelli, and ibn-Khaldun. India is today following Chankya’s political philosophy, while the West is following Machiavelli’s political system. Ibn-Khaldun is no where. Imran with no knowledge of “Rayast-e-Medina” which emerged on the pattern of Roman Ruplic system, where the Caliph was elected by the elites, just as the Roman Ceasar was chosen by the elite class. The present political mess is global created by the AI, World politicians are playing negatively instead of positively. Political philosophy is in need of a new system which will be evolved by the AI, not by any human intellectual. Everywhere in the world human politicians are fighting to negate the political systems devised by the philosophers of political scientists, which is becoming obsolete. There is a gap of political ideology everywhere in the world which will be filled by the AI in the very near future. MIRZA ASHRAF
Mirza Sahib your following comment is worth pondering. “ Everywhere in the world human politicians are fighting to negate the political systems devised by the philosophers of political scientists, which is becoming obsolete.”
Fayyaz Sahib, this morning I have posted following message on my Facebook:
The rising Artificial Intelligence and the after effects of COVID-19 have created an “Intlectually Quiet Times” (IQT) in the life of mankind. Both the Technology and the natural Pandemic are leading mankind into a promising as well as a dangerous future. Today, the intellectuals realizing the effect of IQT are slumbering or may be hibernating, while those who are being guided by the Information Technology are thoughtlessly leading their people.
